Unlike flat film surfaces or glossy finishes with shine, a matte-finished surface conveys a calm and subdued atmosphere. Matte processing involves roughening the surface to scatter light, transforming its appearance to a matte finish. There are various types of matte, such as "blending," "coating," and "sand," each used in different situations according to their purpose. However, a common issue heard is the complaint that "the roughness of the matte is insufficient." With "Embossed Matte," it is possible to adjust the roughness by changing the mold. It allows for a rough matte finish that cannot be achieved with other matte methods. Additionally, "Embossed Matte" is a technique that directly incorporates matte-like unevenness into the film substrate, so there are no concerns about additives from coating synthetic resins containing fillers like those in "Coating Matte," or residual sand like in "Sand Matte."
